About Me

My photo
Well here I am! Finally have plucked up the balls (although I don’t actually have any) to start this blogging thing. I have always said that the world should get to know me and this is a better place to start than any I suppose. I’m getting on a bit now I guess so better get a move on before the arthritis kicks in. I do work for a living and have the pleasure of working my (non-existing) bollocks off and paying stupid amounts of tax for the privilege. This is why I love to live life to the max when and where I can, love music, film and FOOD (I am a size 8............. er +10 lol). So I will start sharing my mad thoughts and views with you (you lucky things you) and slowly break you into the world of just4ulondon…….you think you know but you have NO idea!!

Love Box

Yes people I’m back, sorry it’s been a while but to tell the truth I didn’t have much to say about anything!!

But anyway, last week I went Love Box in Victoria Park, I went on the Saturday.
I’m not really a festival head but I went for my sister’s birthday (she goes every year).

Tickets were £50, ticket touts where selling tickets for £40 and some could get you in for £20, I won’t say what I paid to save myself shame.

I did have a good day but that was due to the bottle of Brandy I sneaked in (secretly hidden between my legs). Yes there was a fair ground, the loo's were alright-ish and yes the music was decent but tell me please why Love Box organisers found it necessary to close-in the different sound systems and make people queue to get in to the ‘designate’ dance area!! What a joke, what stupidness, plus within these ‘designated areas’ you couldn’t buy drink, and if you wanted to go get one they wanted you to queue up again.

As you can see I was not overly impressed by this so as for Love Box, I went but I don’t think I’ll be going again.

I Just Cant Get Enough Of The old Skool

Some of today’s music artists are no doubt talented, but I can not help but feel that many tunes of today do not touch the music of the past. As I get older I sound more like my mum by saying ‘what is that rubbish’ and ‘they don’t makes songs like they used too’.

With stupid amounts of money being spent on music videos there seems to be less effort put in to the actual music!

Just a flavour of some of what I consider old skool classics

Big can be Beautiful

I have not written this to slag big girls off or put females down but I just wanted to voice my annoyance when I see larger ladies make no effort with their appearance or dress as if they are a size zero with bits and bobs hanging out all over the place. I am no size zero, skinny arse lady; trust me but I do feel I dress appropriate for my size and make the most of what I got.

It is harder for us bigger ladies to shop for trendy, up-to-date fashion and styles but with the high-street finally realising that big gals have money too! more and more shops are starting to stock bigger sizes although there is a long way to go.

With high street shops such as; New Look, Dorothy Perkins, Hennes, Peacocks and Evans introducing new stylish ranges, plus online shopping options, there are fresh choices that are more affordable than ever so there is no excuse.

When thinking of big beautiful women to look to for inspiration, I could only think of two…….Queen Latifah and Beth Ditto (yes Beth). Both women have their own style although Beth I feel at times breaks the boundary into millions of tiny pieces like a bomb with some of her outrageous fashion statements and shows that when she gets it right, she’s spot on but when she gets it wrong! There are no words. Queen Latifah carries herself well, makes the most of her curves and always looks sexy, beautiful, sassy and most important DRESSES FOR HER SIZE!!

So come on ladies, make the most of what you got and show the skinny girls that we can shine too!

Bruno!
On Friday I went to the cinema to see Sasha Baron Cohen’s new film, Bruno. Sasha is known for his eccentric, conventional characters (Ali G and Borat) and does not let us down with his new over the top screwball character fashion reporter Bruno.

Bruno is an openly gay fame hungry Austrian, who will do ANYTHING to hit it big in America. There is no doubt that whilst watching the film I couldn’t help but feel like I had seen it before and that Bruno could have easily been Borat and I would have laughed regardless. Although there were the same predictable scenes involving willies, gay sex, shocking outfits and naked men and the obvious ingredient of hidden camera’s and somewhat suicidal interviews with politicians, close encounters with the local redneck trailer trash and his shameless attempt of joining the army (hilarious), I could not help but laugh till I cried and had to change my Tena lady!!

Please do not go to see this film unless you prepared to sit back and cringe at some of the most scandalous and crude scenes to be shown in cinema recently.

This film can only be described as tasteless but still worth every penny.
